What's your favourite genre to read when you're on holiday?

Romance, mystery, fantasy, sci-fi, fiction, non-fiction? There are many to choose from so which do you prefer to relax with?

As a writer, I have a variety of genre's that I relax with. Fantasy would probably be my first choice for a holiday read, but as mysteries are my stock and trade at this point mystery detective adventures would be a really close second. I do tend to tie my vacations in with my research, an advantage of the occupation, so if a have a particular novel I am working on, I may also read shorts on a specific topic that relate to my research. . I am pretty eclectic in my  reading choices.

Thanks Gene. I'm a bit like you, I enjoy quite a few genres. The one I choose for holiday reading is Sci Fi because of the escapism aspect, which is similar to Fantasy I guess. Good luck with your novel writing.

I must admit I haven't read it but I have seen the movie. I will have to put it on my reading list, thanks for the reminder Gavin.
