Can I only post my very own pictures in my hubs or can I use online pictures, too?
Some of the hubs that I've written need a picture of an object of some sort- something that I would not have a picture of myself. Are there pictures that I can use online, or do I have to just use my own pictures?
0Hi Jamine. Where possible, it is always a good idea to use original pictures. However, that is not always possible. There are several places that you can get pictures that meet HP guidelines for use on Hubs.
This link will take you to the info you need.

The issue here is copyright. There are any number of online photo/illustration sites that allow you to download pictures. Some are copyright free, some require a small payment. As long as you comply with any copyright requirement you should be alright.
You can use the google search engine to filter results by usage rights. Do so, and when you find an appropriate picture, visit the website where it's featured. Look for the copyright terms and notice, google possibly identified it as creative commons or free copyright (and hence the listing).
If you found an appropriate photo with a copyright that allows you usage, import it to HubPages. Most kinds of creative copyrights require that you backlink to the original page, which you can do by providing the link in the 'url' section of the Hub's capsule.
Finally, find the author of the original picture and input their name, along with any company they'd be in and the name of the website into the 'name of the author' part of the Hub capsule. If you do it such, I don't think you'll receive any copyright complaints.
The main thing is to filter image search by copyright and use pictures that are 're-usable', with a clear copyright notice on their websites of origin.
You will notice that about half the pictures you'll find on google like that stem from Wikimedia Commons. That's fine, because Wiki Commons has a concise and easy display for both copyright, author name and source websites that you can pull over to your hub. Wikimedia Commons also has most copyright definitions at hand for you to read and comprehend.
you can post your own pic, in the caption, write it is belongs to yours.
You can also use pixabay, morgue and freedigitalphoto images, remember to put their credits

Do you use your own pictures in hubs?Do you use photos of yourself, your family, your friends, or anything else from your personal life? Or do you search the internet for pictures that match the subject you are writing about? What is your reasoning behind your decision?

Two of my hubs have been unpublished for using watermarked/pixelated pics. I was wondering, what should I do to avoid this scenario in future? Where should I go to get pics for my hubs?

Is it important to always include pictures in my articles before publishing? I also want to know if picture tags boost SEO.

How long does it take you to write a hub?I think this question will really open some eyes, for some. On average I spend about 30-35 minutes writing a hub, though it can sometimes be longer, sometimes as short as 15 minutes. A rare occasion will require a large amount of research, which can cause...
