      Ravi, this is a wonderful account of Nauru Island. I came to know how the island reached its peak prosperity once, then had downfall of economy, people becoming obese and other issues. I am glad to know lifestyle of the inhabitants is improving now and so is the economy. A very interesting write-up. I may not visit there in person but I was happy to be acquainted with this island.

    Very interesting, Ravi. Australia uses Nauru (on and off) for offsure immigration detention. The has been a lot of discussion about the poor living and medical conditions there.
    I am glad there are programs in place to increase the health and combat the obesity problems among the general population though.

    This is an interesting article Ravi. It is sad that wealth resulted in our health for so many, when it should have made life better. I never heard of this island before. At least there finally were initiatives to improve the health of the population.

    That is a sad tale indeed!  I am glad that the people of Nauru Island are starting to take positive steps towards a healthier lifestyle.  I hope that their economy also recovers.  Thanks Chitrangada for sharing this article.
