I'd say "False".  It never occurred to me to be ashamed of writing.  If it weren't for people who came before us writing (including writing letters, keeping journals, writing in newspapers, writing papers, or even writing on caves) we wouldn't know anything about history.  People who write have ideas to express, stories to tell, or even just a wish to reach out to other human beings.  I don't think any of those things is anything to be ashamed of.  Someone who writes for a living is doing "good, clean, work" (most of the time) - so, again, nothing to be ashamed of.

I also say false, but I didn't understand his reason for posting a quote with the authors name and book title(?)
