I know there has been a lot of talk about self publishing however it has been divided talk. Some writers say that you can be successful and others say you cannot. I am wondering what my fellow hubbers thing is self publishing really good or is it a waste of time and effort?
If you know what you are doing and are willing to spend the necessary time and money, you can be successful--but the definition of success varies from person to person.
I fave just started my eleventh self-pub;lished book.

If you mean is it worth paying someone to publish your book, I'd guess that it usually is not.
But it can definitely be worthwhile selling e-books yourself. I sell three and make about $50 a month from each for several years now. That's not "buy an island" money, but it definitely was worth the effort.
Sure you *can* be successful. But only a very small proportion of self-publishers sell more than a few hundred books.
Well I would liken it to dressing up like Jesus or Elvis and believing so much that you were that character that you tried to cash their cheque after you signed it in front of the teller!
What da you reckon????
Why Are you YELLING AT US?? In Caps?

Are women really worth the same pay as men? Most of the women that I work with are less dependable, absent more often, get pregnant, worry about their looks, have relationship problems, cry at work if something goes wrong, and on and on. Do they really deserve the same pay?
