Are women really worth the same pay as men?
Most of the women that I work with are less dependable, absent more often, get pregnant, worry about their looks, have relationship problems, cry at work if something goes wrong, and on and on. Do they really deserve the same pay?
Yes ofcourse personal matters can't judge their salary, some might be less dependable but not all they have more responsibility than men as they had to manage their homes along with office work..These are the problems of women but men also have some problems depending on various situations so the matter of fact is this whether it be a women or men if they will be doing their job well they would be paid well and if they absent their salary is less as compared to those who don't absent themselves...
Yes they do. I hate to say it, but you're stereotyping all women and generalizing their work ethic. Some men behave that inept. Your post makes you seem like a sexist. I hope I'm wrong.
To answer your question, women should be paid the same so that men will be hired as often as women. It's like corporations outsourcing their labor force to countries who don't have minimum wage or to illegal immigrants that will work for less. It's bad for everyone.
I believe in social justice and equality.
I worked in a male dominated field for over ten years. And trust me, I've seen the 'work ethic' of some of the men there. They can be worse than the women you are stereotyping here.
I agree with other posters that, for the most part, women have more on their plates then men. They are responsible for cooking, cleaning, taking care of the kids and working full-time. When I was in that situation, I left it at the door. Work was work, just like when I was at home I didn't worry about work (at least until after the kids went to sleep.)
Each person is an individual. What you are saying is kind of like saying a man over 50 isn't worth the same pay as a woman because he is dealing with getting older, erectile dysfunction, his dog dying, etc. If any person can't leave their personal life outside of work it affects their job performance. I've seen the male ego interfere with work too often.
Oh my God.
Working around someone who is unsympathetic and unkind is probably likely to have a similar reaction from anyone, not only women.
I can't believe this is a question. OK, let's brainstorm for my next question: is the Earth really round?
Yes, most emphatically, yes they do! What'd you think I was gonna say? Think I'm suicidal? Gotta know when to turn off the wise ass machine sometime, no?
I'm with doctor Johnson who said (250 years ago as a matter of fact) when asked to describe the differences between men and women - "Which man and which woman"?
Let me take you back to basics on this one Steve.
Equal pay for equal work.
Equal expectation for all, equal support for all, equal reward for equal effort.
Got that? And by the way, you should worry a bit more about your looks. Don't burst into tears now . . STOP CRYING for God's sake!
We are different but we can work just as hard as some men do. I've work with men who I don't think should be paid as much as me for most of the same reasons. In think we should be paid by the quality of our work not our genders.
IT IS UNCOMPARABLE THE WORTHINESS WITH MAN AND WOMAN. BOTH ARE CREATED IN DIFFERNET WAY WITH DIFFERENT BLESSING AND TALENTS.
SO BOTH ARE WORTH, BUT HOW WE RESOURCE IT THAT IS THE QUESTION WE HAVE TO THINK
Yes they do, and maybe more; Most women cannot leave the office for a bar to hang out with their peers, they have to rush home to make the meal.
Maybe the ones you work with feel stressed by your attitude.
Absolutely! One thing that ticks me off is when I am doing the same work as a man and not getting paid for it. In fact, I think it is safe to write that there are times when women are taken advantage of and asked to work about their pay grade yet get no monetary benefits. Yet, if a guy was asked and they did the work, then they would get paid. Too many cases of unjust treatment!
It is also important to note that, yes, there are differences--obviously. As the French would say, Viva La Difference! Is one better than the other? I think we have to consider each individual versus their gender. It is what each person can ring to the table that needs to scrutinized, not their gender.
I see some have written this is not a good question. In my opinion, however, I feel there is nothing wrong with this question. It is similar to asking the question of whether or not people are still racist. In both cases, it is still there--unequal pay and unequal treatment. Yet, it continually is improving. Yet as in most cases of unfairness, we still have a ways to go!
It depends on knowledge, performance, and competence. I hate it when women get paid less just becuase their women. There needs to be a work related reason for why they get paid less. I have seen many females in class, and even at the gym who are more copetent than the males, so this may apply for work places as well.

Do you think that women should receive the same pay as men if they have equal qualifications.I notice that women's pay is still lower than men.

Why Are Women Still Paid Less Than Men. What Has Happened To Equal Rights For Women? We have had the equal pay act since the 1970's and yet women still earn a third less than their male counterparts. Why is this discrimination still happening? And more importantly why is nobody talking about it?

Does it matter that women are not equal to men? Why or why not?A fellow hubber commented on my hub "I am not equal in 15 states", "How has this hurt you? Why do you care?" How would you answer this question?
