One night I stood up late and watched Johnny Cash's biography on television.
It was then I had an idea to write a poem,
From Cash's ordeal with drugs and depression.
In one such segment of the biography it described the time Cash had wandered into a cave,
Perhaps in an attempt to end it all,
Out of his disparity he had hit rock bottom !
Like Cash himself I also had a very rebellious youth.
For I had sought comfort from alcohol and drugs as an escape from reality,
This would only end in a life of dire disparity like Johnny Cash's experience.
Personally, I felt that he had to get to the very bottom of himself,
In order to receive the healing that he needed in his own life.
Cash displayed the unique kindness toward his family, friends and loved ones.
As if he was a beacon of light to a much hurting world in need of answers.
Perhaps this was a good lesson that each of us can take to learn,
To wander in a cave of our own choosing.
In order to evoke a pathway across the dividing line of life !
Thank you Johnny Cash for all your aspirations and kindness that you extended on all your adoring fans !
To The Man In Black...
You will live on in the hearts of so many fans, from inmates to housewives, romantics and cynics. Your music and voice moves me each and every time I listen. A resting place for the soul, where you successfully reassure mankind that perhaps we're always getting ready to go to a funeral... quite possibly our very own.
Rock On Johnny Cash... Forever and Always in Infamy.
Johnny was the man!...loved his voice...and his ballads....
