WHY ARE GOOD MEN SO HARD TO FIND?

Updated on November 5, 2012

Often times, my pen will flow with praises of my girls,

One daughter, and one granddaughter,

Their qualities inspire me, Then poems are unfurled.

Yet all his life , there is a person

who has never touched my pen,

I wonder why, when my love for him

Is a love that´ll never end.

Never could I quarrel, or be angry with this one,

His tenderness when news is bad, just melts

my nervousness, He calms me like no other can.

In my eyes he can do no wrong, Knows the way to treat me,

His qualities are all a man could ever need,

A strength of character............ A stubbornness to see

a project through.

There´s no one quite like him, who´ll work

as long as there´s work to do..

He takes good care of the underdog,

Whoever they may be,

His feelings for the genuine poor,

spur him on to help, for sure.

His heart is soft and gentle, despite his strength of mind.,

But don´t try to take advantage, for he WILL repay in kind.

The love I feel wherever he is,

The love I feel whatever he does,

Is strong and permanent.!!

I love him like no other,

Well, I would, since I´m his mother.

I love you Dim. Good men hard to find? Not sure anyone is really looking for "good men". Obedient men? Sacrificial men?

Hi Teylina. Thanks for the double visit to this one.

I don´t think there is any fear of another Will Star or Epi coming from me.

I´ve tried before and give the game away before half way through. This one nust have been a fluke. ha Ha...

Lovely to see you here. Take care.

mclbird, you are so right! That's what it was that got me was the twist -- WS is hard enough to wait for the end, Epi --think we all gave up on figuring his out long ago-- Are we now going to have to watch your endings, too, Dim? I need to learn how to do this; got a hub that flubbed because I couldn't get it right! All of you are awesome!

    Thanks for commenting, Angela Blair.

I´m so sorry about your son. It must be the hardest thing in the world to see a child pass 1st.

    You are one brave lady.

    Take care.

How smart you are to write such elegant poetry for your son -- they are true treasures. I wrote some stories about my son before he passed away and I'm so glad he and I got to share them -- he mostly found them humorous but I know he was pleased. Excellent poetry and subject matter. Best/Sis

Beautiful. Something about mothers and sons that's just a bit different than girls. From both sides. I caught my daughter and her youngest talking last night, and her head lay back but you could see the eye contact, the bond, the one that can't be duplicated. I've seen it elsewhere. Just different.

Ah, so touching Dim! Is just as lucky to have you too. Yes, good men are hard to find, we must hold to them when they come out the cave...

ImKarn23, Hee hee, We are all so proud of our sons.

It´s taken me an awfully long time to write a poem for my son.

Maybe girls are just easier to write about.

Thank you so much for commenting .
