What is the best way to handle this situation.
What do I about people knocking on my door for bread or rice or anything how do I handle it without opening my door.
If your scared to answer your door, why not try posting something on it saying that you forbid any soliciting of any kind.
Let me ask this, do you occasionally give food to these people. If so, like stray cats, they will not leave. They figure if they pester you enough, you will cave.
If you have never feed, given money, or even the time of day, then I would contact your local law enforcement. If the panhandlers show up at irregular intervals then this may not be practical.
One last possibility includes a sign stating "This property protected by Smith and Wesson."
Open the door and say I'm busy right now and I will don't have any rice or bread. Or say I will give you rice or bread, hold on a second. Then tell them to have a blessed day. peace
