When looking to purchase a home, is a private home inspection worth the money?
I used to watch a lot of real estate shows and if I learned one thing from all of it is that you should always hire your own home inspector to check the house out before you buy it. There are many things that could be wrong that are easily overlooked and seeing reports from two home inspectors is better than just one. Just make sure you find someone with a good reputation.
Yes it's worth getting an inspection down by a professional. Benefit is if they find any major problems you have the option to cancel the purchase, or you can amend the contract to ask for funds from the seller for repairs.
