What is this plant?
I have been clearing a thicket behind my home and have come across a plant that resembles a grape plant. The leaves are similar and it has a vine that grows both along the ground and up into bushes and trees. I have tried to kill it with weed killer and even full strength vegetation killer and it is still growing strong. So far the only thing that has worked is to cut the vines and pull it from trees and of of the ground. I am wearing gloves during the pruning and removal but I am getting a rash similar to poison ivy from this plant on my exposed arms and legs.
It looks like a grape vine to me. Many garden centers will identify the plant for you if you can cut a sample of it. Since you're having a reaction to the leaves, I would handle it with care and place it in a plastic bag. If it's a wild grape vine (which is what it appears to be), you might try sawing it at the base and removing as much root as you can.
