What is the best advice for someone moving into a new home as a first time home buyer?
It takes time to fill up a house with furniture and things. Start slow and get the big things first (Bed, Dining room table, Couch) that you will use on a daily basis.
Make sure you can afford the house note and keep in mind, someone could lose a job, have a pay cut or encounter some other financial issue. If you go in debt to buy the house, you may not be there long enough to enjoy it.
Remodel the rooms you want to remodel before you move in. I wish I had done that, instead of after I move in. It's a pain at that point.
