Our sins can be forgiven if we follow what is stated in John 3:36 - "The one who exercises faith in the Son has everlasting life, the one who disobeys the the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains upon him."
Exercising faith in Jesus ransom sacrifice is vital if we are to gain forgiveness for our sins, but it does not stop there. Hebrews 5:9 states: "And after he had been made perfect, he became responsible for everlasting salvation to all those obeying him."
In order to gain forgiveness believing is not enough we must also be obedient to Jesus commands and teachings. We must put an earnest effort to stop the act that we are doing that is displeasing to his Father Jehovah. 1 Peter 2:24 states : "He himself bore our sins in his own body on the stake, so that we might die to sins and live to righteousness...."
In other words after everything that Jehovah and his Son Jesus has done for us we should work hard to overcome sinful tendencies and we would never want to do anything deliberately that would go against his standards. What future blessings await us if we do this> Visit www.jw.org to learn more.

What do you make of John 20:19-23?Most particularly I was working on a sermon on this and this line hit me in a new light, like a ton of bricks: 23 If you forgive anyone’s sins, their sins are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”My thoughts are that man can forgive...

Every Christian believes that their sins are forgiven by the blessed name and blood of Jesus on the Cross. The concept that Jesus (PBUH) died for the SINS of Mankind (Original Sin/Blood Atonement) runs contrary to not only rational thinking and common sense, but more importantly, to the teachings...

If ones sins have been washed away...then why do they still have sin in their life.It is to my understanding that Christ died to show us the way out of sin, that sin can be Processed out of our life, and not that it don't exist any more.OTHERWISE,HOW CAN YOU WASH SOMETHING AWAY,AND IT STILL BE THERE?

The Bible says that all one has to do is ask for forgiveness. Now being that, do you think that Satan might have already asked God for forgiveness? Now before you rattle off scripture.....I don't believe...but I could be wrong....that the Bible has nothing to say on that.

What did the Bible mean when it says Jesus died for all our sins?Did he die only for original sin, just a few people's sins, only the people at the moment in time, or everyone's sin throughout space/time?

Can you go a day without sinning?Sin takes on many forms. Many people think they are good people, and they are. But, are they sinless? Is it possible, if you really try, to go a whole day without sinning?
