Are you a clean freak or do just enough to pass friends and family inspection?
It depends on your definition of neat freak. My house isn't always dust free, but I clean about once a week. When it comes to other things, I follow the rule that everything has a place and if it's not there, put it there. I hate clutter and like to be well-organized. When people come to visit, I say the usual "Excuse the mess" and they look at me like I have three heads. LOL!
I have always been a fan of " a place for everything and everything in it's place "...as a career Wife/Mother, it has always made life so much easier, children learned from day one and it carried over into their adult years. They also so are practicing this method and makes for a stress-less daily life.
Cleaning is an as you are done clean/put it away...if you see it needs attention...take responsibility...this way it is not " one person's job"
Many times through the years, friends and family have stopped in unannounced and it became as a " joke ", who will catch me in disarray ?
I am now retired and my grandchildren are the same way...organization and cleanliness is just second nature...
