Organic straw bale gardening with pesticides treated straw bales? Is that ok?..
I would like to start an organic straw bale garden: but: do the straw bales have to be made of organic straw as well?..
No one anywhere on the web is mentioning anything about this "detail" or does it not matter? Would the fruits and vegetables still be considered organic from pesticide treated straw bale?
Yes, it does matter. If the straw was treated with pesticides, those chemicals will leach into your soil, and your garden will no longer be organic. Look for organic straw bales, to keep your garden completely pesticide free.
Thank you ! This is exactly what I thought. It is incredible no one is talking about this fundamental basic when talking about the subject. It should be heavily mentioned. Thank you again!
