Make Money with You Tube

Many people in the UK are getting together with YouTube to make money from their home video clips. The income from advertisement can range from £8000 to more than £100,000.

The British people's love affair with YouTube reached an all-time high recently, when Howard Davies-Carr's video clip of his one-year-old son Charlie, was shown biting his three-year-old brother's finger on a family video. When shown on YouTube, the video clip clocked up more than 387 million hits. The video, titled "Charlie bit my finger-again" is believed to have made £120,000.

While most people are aware of YouTube as a site to upload and watch great videos, few realises the earning capacity of the YouTube Partnership program. Income can vary from about 60p per 1000 views or payment made when ads are clicked.

In my last money making hub, "A guide to making money on YouTube;10 tips you should know before publishing on YouTube

I looked at 10 tips that can help us make high-quality videos that can be uploaded to YouTube to make money.

Ten More Tips.

  • Video playlist

A video playlist allows you to group a set of videos in sequence to play in the order you want them to.You may want to organize your video in a particular order if, i.e., you are giving a set of instructions to build a shed or to put together a recipe; your video will need to be in a certain order. You will need a playlist that will reflect this, allowing your viewers to get the most out of your videos, thereby, increasing views to your channel. Playlist will show up separately in YouTube searches, therefore, improving the chances of your clips getting on the front pages of search results

  • Interactivity with annotation

Video annotation is a new way to add interactive commentary to your videos; it can be used to to add background information about your videos, link to related YouTube Videos, channels or search result from within a video

A very useful feature of Youtube videos is the ability to be interlinked through annotation.
Some users put an annotation on the top left and top right corners of each of their videos.
The annotation in the top left links to the previous videos and the top right links to the next video. Annotation can also be used to create a menu screen at the end of your video. You control what message the annotation display, when to use it and when to remove it.

  • Use subtitles

Subtitle are very useful for the deaf, hearing impaired or even for people who work with the volume turned down. The text you provide is also read by YouTube search engine, improving the possibility of your video getting rank for more terms.

  • Use Facebook and other Social Media to Promote

It is a sign of the times that every video that went viral has been shared through social media.
Facebook is one of the most powerful platforms for videos.

Videos can be directly embedded in a post, but other platforms can also be used.
It is a good idea to try a few different social media strategies to see what works best for you.

  • Post Good quality content Regularly

Update your YouTube video channel automatically, create original safe content. You can make a commitment to upload a new video weekly or monthly but try to be consistent.

  • Be part of a community

Like Hub Pages, YouTube can also be a fantastic community. Viewers can respond to your questions in the comment section, send your material for videos, etc. However, this behaviour needs to be encouraged.

  • Join the YouTube Partner Program

The YouTube partner program is led by YouTube, and allows people with popular good quality videos to register and upload an unlimited amount of material and can make money on the site. Unregistered users can watch and download videos. If you want to make money directly from Your YouTube account, one way would be to allow YouTube to place ads in or alongside your video, then link your YouTube account to an Adsense account. You will not make a huge amount of money from these earnings, unless of course, your view count goes out of the ballpark, therefore it is a good strategy to monetize through your website.

  • Respond to Popular Videos

An easy way to get more views is to identify your video as a 'Video Response' to popular video. Your video will show up underneath the original video, and maybe also in the sidebar, your video link can be exposed to as many as 100,000 views.

  • Contact bloggers and other writers in your niche

Most bloggers and Hub writers love to feature high-quality video content on their site to entertain their readers and use as subject matter, I use YouTube videos in my hubs, this keeps my viewers much longer on my page and when use sensitively with my content, the videos gives Another dimension to my articles.
The benefits are great, more views, more subscribers and a valuable backlink to your video. When a website with a high page rank embeds your video, Google recognizes it and start to rank the video higher in its searches.
To get bloggers and Hub writers to feature your work, you must first announce yourself to let them know about it.

  • Create a Hub around your video

If you have a Hub in the same niche as your video, and most likely many of you do, you could make a separate hub page or blog for each video you upload to YouTube.

Optimize this page for search using the same title and keywords as your video, this can help you to show up at the top of Google's results.
Use a call to action, encourage your viewer to take some action, by asking them to do something, you may find that they are much more likely to comply when asked.

Your call to action can include:

  • Asking your viewers to subscribe to your channel
  • Share with others
  • Click a link
  • Add to favourites
  • Request comments

Well, that's all folks, see you in the movies.
