Im sorry to hear about your circumstance. Just to clarify, what do you mean by "loose your kids"?

Claim your kids on taxes? Absolutely! You may actually be able to get a big refund, if demoncrats in Washington don't change the tax code to remove our low income credits. Now, if you don't have any income of any kind, you don't file taxes, so it wouldn't matter.

My prayers are with you. Blessings on the job hunt.

You may want to consider consulting a law clerk for this. From what I've heard, the court looks specifically at financial stability as one of the deciding factors for custody battles. It's probably a good idea to get your finances in order before trying to fight for your kids, lest you get a court ruling that does not go in your favor.

    Good luck
