Can a single mother or 3 claim the child tax credit if she was unemployed in 2010?
Can a single mother or 3 children unemployed, and did not recieve and financial assistance or unemployment benefits, claim the child tax credit 2010?
No you have to have made a certain amount, I don't think much but unless they changed it this came up for a friend of a friend and $800 comes to mind but that has been several years ago, you can call the government and ask them, they talk to you and give you answers and i doubt you have to give your name if you don't want and I don't see why they would ask. The booklet showing earned income, etc. would have the answer also.

I know for the tax credit the child must be under 17. Does it make a difference if the child is...still in school after 17. I heard it continues after 17 if the child is still in school (college)?

I heard that the 2011 child tax credit will be only $500. What do you know about this ?I also heard that in 2011 we will have to claim our Health Insurance as income if it is a benefit from a job.....
