If you know a telemarketer or collection agency is calling do you answer it?
Do you answer the phone and carry on a conversation with them, or do you quickly get them off the phone, or ignore it all together?
No I do not, if I dont recognize the number I don't answer. If it is important they will leave a message. I have debt collectors calling for my siblings all of the time, it got to the point where I have to send them cease and desist letters, I was getting calls everyday from collection agencies sometimes multiple times a day. The only way to get collectors to stop calling is to send them a cease and desist letter even if you are not the debtor they are trying to get a hold of or obtain information about.
If, as the question states, you know it's a bill collector, you probably need to answer it. They'll keep calling. I have a few good tips about bill collectors on my hubs if you wanna check it out.
