I know our system has problems, but I think it is the best one--it is frustrating but the checks and balances are so necessary.

Probably the one that is least political.
It was Thomas Paine that said  something like  'The government that governs best, is the one that governs least.'

Someone else said that a benevolent dictatorship is best-- but that only last as long as the benevolence or the dictator.

I think any government that has been established by a constitution hammered out between respectable people of integrity, has the best chance of being tolerable... everything changes.

a dictatorship i guess- i'd rather be denied knowingly my say in government,  than to be told that i in fact i do have a say in democracy- only to make no impact whatsoever- my liberties trampled on....

We haven't found a perfect system to live under, but democracy is the best till we touch the perfection.

as it sits now there are no truly good political systems. i honestly think Canada is one of the best ones along with switzerland. i used to think the U.S. was the best system but i lost that belief over the last decade or so.

Capitalism where the people still rule and where the government isn't treated like a political 'being'

Democracy is the best.  If only our representatives could be held more accountable.  We simply don't have any options when it comes to voting.  Sadly, that is the only way to voice our opinion.  I believe it is time for a system that allows taxpayers to vote on important issues, perhaps via internet.

A democratic government is the best to live under because we can change the rules whenever we get enough people to want it.  Everyone has a voice and if things get bad enough we can make changes without having to burn down our government.  We all complain about our system but it works pretty good most of the time...change takes time but we don't usually have big swings in our lives like they do in some countries.  This last financial crisis proved that we can handle major problems and pull out of it if we have smart, level headed people in Washington
