Can a hammer hit a nail without a person to swing it? Why is a gun any different?
Cars don't run over people, but that is how they are reported. Just like guns don't kill people but that too is how it is reported. Why aren't the people who shoot the gun to blame?
In terms of Entropy its more likely that a hammer needs a person to swing it but less likely to happen without a person. Same with a gun. Usually when a person fires a gun and kills someone they get blamed, unless they are a soldier. In same cases car drivers are also help responsible in the eyes of the law... I guess its all about how the killing took place, that determines who's is or who is not too blame...
We might hurt someone's feelings or we might be predjudice if we make someone take responsibilty for their actions. It's like they think, there's no other way to kill each other, than guns. Or the argument of children who accidentally shoot themselves. More children drowned in bathtubs every year than get killed by guns.
I wish they would let the public know if the killer had a weapons permit or not, like they do with car and motorcycle accidents and how they infer the cause of death was a result of not wearing seatbelts or helmets.
My favorite one is "If I have a boot on my foot and I kick you square in the a$$, who kicked you, me or the boot.
No, a hammer cannot hit a nail...nor is a gun any different. I think it's done deliberately. Poeple's thinking is refocused to miss the obvious and see the inane as important.
Doesn't it seem there should be some sort of idiot test a person needs to take before they can own a gun? We can go anywhere we want in this country, no questions asked, but that doesn't mean you get to DRIVE there. If you don't pass the idiot test for motorists you take a buss, walk, whatever. Firearms are serious business as well and shouldn't be handled by people who don't have the physical or mental acuity to do so, either. With rights come responsibilities, some folks seem to forget that.

Why are guns so violently defended?I know why gun manufacturers defend guns (it's their business) but why do gun owners defend it more vehemently than any other topic? People that are completely silent on other hot button issues suddenly pull out their megaphone to defend guns after another...

Until 1989, there were only a few school shootings in which more than two victims were killed. This was despite widespread ownership of — and familiarity with — weapons and an absence of “gun-free zones.” Many rural areas had a long tradition of high-school students going hunting in the...

Why do we swing our arms when we walk?
