What is most important to you this election?
Homeland security, healthcare, and jobs are at the top of my list.
What election is that then, it is a few years before our general elections.
Keeping Romney away from the White House, and I'm a conservative. He simply scares me.
Please research Mormonism and The Secret Society, PLEASE.
scares the heck out of me - especially in his attitude toward other nations and war - You can't play games like his in a nuclear world.
Believe me Billie, there is "A LOT" more to fear about Romney.
So many things come to mind. Yes, our security is high on my list as is jobs and the economy. I would love to see our country prosper again.
I'm worried that 6 months of a learning curve of a brand new Pres is not going to help any momentum that is happening. My husband is getting lots of calls from recruiters (software industry). Our experience: recruiters calling = economy rising..
Most important to me is getting it over with so some people can return to a verisimilitude of sanity.
My answers will show you why I'm an Independent. I just finished making a Pros and Cons list to help solidify my decision. I'm worried about:
* Social Security
* Middle Class
* Illegal Aliens
* More Wars
* The Right to Bear Arms
* Women's Rights
* The Deficit
* Health Care
Can you guess who I'm voting for?
The most important thing to me is, and always has been, since we are supposed to be a God-fearing nation....having a President ruling over our country who believes in God and who turns to God with all his decision making.
An aside: That so many people accept presidents as rulers is, in my view, a problem. They aren't. They are executive officers whose duty is to do the bidding of the congress and to defend the US Constitution. IOW, hired help, not rulers.
The important thing to me this election is that people may want to vote the Bible way. The morals and standards of what Christ would probably vote for if He was on Earth again.
Brinafr3sh, I agree. However, unfortunate and as puzzling as it may seem, in my view, modern day "Christ followers" or "Christians" revert to the old Testament in their view or morals and spend little time analyzing how Christ would actually vote.
That people wake up and realize that they are responsible for their own life, not the president or the government. It doesn't matter who is in office. What matters is what people do with their time on the planet. Presidents come and go. If we want a better life we have to create it ourselves.
This is a complete falsehood, try telling this to those who have been out of work for 2 years and lost their homes and everything they had. They didn't stop working as hard, the jobs disappeared.
Good point JT, but in life everyone has to make adjustments. Even a millionaire! The best course of action is to re-train for careers that are in demand or start a new business. Its about working smart and putting oneself in a favorable position.
Most of today's people simply don't have the money to do any of these things you have mentioned. It is "REALLY" tough out there.
Then it comes down to FAITH. If people can prosper during the great depression, this is nothing. It may mean making new contacts with investors. In reality, if you know where to look, people are still earning millions and billions every year.
Sri T and JThomp42, your dialog led this question to pop up in my head: When did we, in America, stop believing that the government is US? ooh, ooh, I'm going to post that question now. Let's see what happens
1. The Survival of our Planet - the ocean, the mountains, us - which party will "buck up" and be brave enough to face issues of global climate change and our responsibility to alleviate its effects. 2. The Improvement of Society - the issue of homelessness, the disparity of opportunity and growing gap between rich and poor; 3. Our Approach to War - whether we come from an insecure place of "we'll show them" or a place of thoughtful, calm strength - (the latter point, of course, relating to pont 1: the survival of our planet.)

The November jobs numbers came out and are very strong.There is a simple historical fact at play here: Presidents get credit when the economy is strong and blame when it is weak. As much as conservatives may hate it, many saw Obama succeeding in this way and that's why he won a second term. The...

Is this about getting K Harris in the White House?"About three dozen House Democrats have signed a letter asking President Biden to renounce his sole authority to launch nuclear weapons, according to reports.A promise from the president to give up his nuclear capabilities as commander in chief...

I don't know about you, but the wagon wheels on this impeachment iniative are starting to come off. The recent challenge by Trump for Pelosi to bring the impeachment inquiry to a house vote is a win-win move. If it comes to a vote and they decide not to impeach, then we go back to waiting for the...

Finally, a move to end the election interference of the democrat party. This may be the beginning of sanity returning to the election process.It was a 9 - 0 ruling by the Supreme Court that President Donald Trump remain on the ballot. That is a very powerful statement for the democrats...

This discussion focuses solely on President Biden's job performance without comparing it to Trump or any other past president. I'm interested in understanding whether the current president has had any impact on your life, be it positive or negative. Additionally, I'm curious to know if a...
