Why is homosexuality an issue if it doesn't affect most of us?
If it doesn't affect me, why would it concern me? What would make a person against someone else's lifestyle?
Good question! It actually doesn't affect anyone, except in their heads. If you don't want a gay person for a friend or acquaintance - don't have one! If you don't want a family member who is gay, then disown them!
You do not have to associated with anyone who is "gay" or different from yourself.
Why do people obsess over someone's sexuality? It's insane.
Anytime the government mandates something, it affects all of us.
Redefining marriage changes marriage, miscegenation didn't change the requirements of marriage, but gay marriage does.
You are affecting me right now, and I wonder what is your problem.
What people do in private doesn't bother me, but it has adversely affected my entertainment choices for one thing.
Every show has to have diversity, and gays.
These are minorities not majority, but they put them in the show as if they were the majority.
There is a limit when it is exceeded just becomes social engineering.
Besides gay marriage didn't help gay or heterosexual couples that don't want marriage but still want to have a say about their partner, and want the 1135 benefits from the government.
Additionally, to force people and business to cater to people that for one reason or another they can't or don't want to for religious or other reasons does affect them.
There is no constitutional right to marry. It is a state initiated licensing function. The federal government uses and misuses marital status. They then take over a state function and that make the states superfluous.
There are many factors that homosexuality affects society. Restrooms are another one.
How is there any connection even among the l g b and t. There is no common denominator?
You seem to be very angry, so it's hard to understand everything you are saying. Taking the example of TV shows, I believe that they are treated as a minority and I do not think that every TV show is compelled to show anything about homosexuality.
my comments are understandable. Since 2008 there has been an overload of gays and minorities in TV shows way above their % in the population. This is SOCIAL ENGINEERING, If you can't admit this then I wonder why.
What is your reason for the ?
Homosexuality should not affect anyone. Individual people can affect us, but the fact of being homo or heterosexual should not. It is funny that in this country that many are up in arms with homosexuals having the right to marry. Many people say the government is redefining marriage. However, the concept of marriage predates Christianity, Judaism, Islam, etc. The concept of marriage, which went by many names, was actually a contractual exchange between families. Many times the marriage was to help ensure people of certain classes did not marry below themselves; or it was a way to increase wealth; and in many cases it was a way for poor families to marry off daughters so that another family could care them for. Interesting note, the concept of marriage as a sacrament of any importance in Christian religions did not come about until the 1200s. Prior to that one would already be married by local customs and then merely ask the priest to bless the unions after the union was already done. This is why I never understood Christians insistence on saying government is redefining marriage when the concept is older than Christianity, and therefore one could say Christians are trying to redefine it; and even if they wish to redefine it that should note that for most of their history marriage was not a religious component, with the only component being the blessing after the marriage was done. Even in the Bible, the bible reiterates the concept of marriage using customs, which predated the Bible and therefore could not have been created by Christians. The other issues one hears is that by recognizing gay marriage it puts an onus on business for healthcare, or for treating homosexual customers the same as hetero couples. It is sad people forget that business at one time could deny interracial couples service “based on religious, moral, and personal beliefs.” Heck you did not even have to be a couple. You could be Irish, developmentally delayed, etc. Also, I hear nonsensical arguments of they are pushing gay agendas on television. Really? There are hundreds of TV channels with a ton of shows. How many shows have a premise around an openly gay character as a main lead. Answer: Not many. Life is too short. If someone is complaining about how another lives their life (if they are not bothering them), or is complaining about someone wanting equality then it is the complainers life who is sad. They just need someone to feel lower than them.
My son's private religious elementary school said we teach traditional religious views on marriage, so we will decline enrollment of children of homosexuals to avoid conflict for the kid while still retaining the ability to teach what we want.
An activist lesbian tried to enroll her daughter, waiting until the last minute to say "hey! you want the other parent to sign off - it's a woman!" The school returned her refund with a list of public and private schools she could enroll the child in. The mother went to the news, story went national. Hate mail to the school, death threats to teachers and administrators for months.
A threat to burn down the school with the children inside, in the name of hating hate. Interesting THAT was never in the news.
And this isn't an isolated incident because a number of other private religious schools with similar policies have had homosexual parents try to enroll children. Admit the child, and they demand that you change religious teachings to fit their family type or they sue. Don't admit the child, and they go to the media in a firestorm and send hate mail and death threats.
In the name of tolerance, they seek out and try to disrupt any group that holds contrary views. Your business doesn't want to make a wedding cake they find blasphemous? No, you have no right to refuse, though the Colorado Civil Rights Commission said homosexuals can refuse to make a traditional marriage group's banners because THEIR speech or lack thereof is protected. In short, their views are protected as political speech, your contrary speech is not protected because their rights exceed yours.
Go to Europe or Canada, and you can be arrested for stating that homosexuality is a sin, even in a sermon. Say you want a child to go to a married heterosexual family for adoption, charged with a crime.

How do you feel about marriage equality? For? Against? Why?

How does legalized gay marriage "ruin" or affect a heterosexual one?One of the most common arguments against gay marriage is that legalizing gay marriage will somehow minimize or ruin heterosexual marriages. Admittedly, this is one of the stupidest arguments out there, but it is one...

I have a solution to the gay marriage debate. If you are a heterosexual, don't marry somebody of your same gender, trust me the gays won't come to your house and force you.At least they haven't in my case ,when me and my wife got married nobody tried to stop us.

At the risk of being bashed and stepped on here in the forums. I am curious as to why we spend our energy on discriminating and and opposing homosexuality.I am straight and I don't care if you are gay. However, many straight people seem almost obsessed with this. They make it an issue and I don;t...

Why is homosexuality such a hotbed issue? As a Christian I don't believe I have the right to make judgements. I also think it's interesting how we are supposed to be living with love in our hearts as Christ did but so many drag out the old testament when it's serves their purpose. Ham, Noah son...
