Psychology and simple logic tell us that people like hearing and seeing things they agree with, hence conservatives make up most of FOX's viewership and liberals make up most of MSNBC's viewership.
Given that fact it is economically unfeasible for one group to get more media time unless it is significantly larger, media is a business like any other and those businesses target existing groups, if a group was underrepresented then another business would step in to take advantage of that demographic, that has not occurred mainly because that demographic is way too small. While liberal viewpoints vary from the very very mildly left CNN to the harder left MSNBC conservative views are more uniformly hard right and are represented by FOX which has a comparatively enormous viewership.
Hence the supposed media bias is a joke and one that both basic economics and psychology tell us is non existent.
You will never dissuade those who believe the "lamestream" media id liberally biased because they are told to believe it is by their right wing media source.
You said it yourself.
People like hearing and seeing things they agree with.
Facts be damned!
If you really want to know the facts, it is best to listen to all kinds of media and see the points of agreement. Those would probably be the facts. But it is human nature for people to select the media that they like listening to, because it is reassuring or more comforting and conforms to their worldview.
