    Will it be easier in the next four years for the President to achieve what he has set out to, more difficult, or just the same? Republicans keep control of the House, so will they reach across the aisle as Governor Romney urged in his concession speech, or lean even further to the right?

    Boehner issued a statement after the election: "If there is a mandate, it is a mandate for both parties to find common ground and take steps together to help our economy grow and create jobs, which is critical to solving our debt". Is that a sign of good things to come, or is that being overly optimistic?

    And what of the Tea Party? Do they now sit around the neck of the GOP like an albatross? Will their particular brand of right wing politics be considered toxic by those right of centre? Or will they still hold some influence over the party? Will Government be more or less polarised by this election?
