Dishonorable discharge , no jail time , 10,000 dollar fine ?
Too soft ?
Too hard ?
A travesty of justice. A slap in the face of all combat troops.
By the way, he also will receive $300000 in back pay while incarcerated by the Taliban.
He should have been in prison for desertion and treason.
Why don't they publish some of the writings he made to his own parents...?
He is not an American in his heart.
What was it 5-6 of our guys died looking for that deserter?
Ibama honored him at the rainbow house.
Bowe was a spy (messenger)? Obama was spying --
Our justice system is corrupted, compromised and complicit.
That has to change. Maybe Military Tribunals?
Veterans died because of that deserter and that is what you offer?
Had I sat through the trial, heard the evidence and understood both that and the law I might have an opinion. As it is...well, I just don't. There has to be more than what we're hearing - that a man deserted his post in time of war and should pay the ultimate price for desertion. Hard for me to believe that a military judge found almost no wrong doing, so that means there is more to it than the bald fact of desertion.
SHAME! SHAME! To essentially condone desertion in a battle zone, is NOT how you keep a strong team of fighters together and willing to fight for any nation.
Just last week Bowe said in the media " At least that enemy has honor " apparently comparing his own military or government .
He should very well have been executed.
