What would happen if a solar flare super-charged our magnetosphere?

How would Americans (and 1st world nations) react to all power suddenly being shut off for 4-14 years (according to the NASA report)? What would you do?

Solar wind would burn the atmosphere like radiation. I don't know.

Cry, whimper, and kick myself for waiting for my little friend to retire so that we could have already moved somewhere else.

At some stage it's going to happen ...
All anyone can do is to get themselves a woodbased fire that they can cook on ... set it up so it heats your hot water cylinder (wet-back)
have lots of candles and learn how to make them.
you can buy jugs and pots that you can use on the fireplaces.
    buy solar powered torches.
get some solar panels on your roof to give you lights.
you can buy battery powered T.V's and radios however the stations wont work sigh.
buy board games and read lots of books.

Yes it is inevitable, just a matter of time. All computer technology will be rendered useless....and for a lot of you , that means your car. We will be back to living in villages, depending on each other, and knowing our neighbors. Learn how to grow food.
