How can we get the "powers that be" in America to revamp some things?

We should not work so much, Five 8-hour days at work and only two at home.  We are being abused!

Corporations are taking away millions in bonuses for what NOTHING, yet the ones who actually do work their lives away the banks lose their money, they mess with their health care plans, they sometimes don't even receive a pension due to some TECHNICALITY. Yet some of these big bosses are taking away half a Billion in bonuses what have they done to earn them such a big bonus? SEND US IN TO A RECESSION

    Yours sincerely

In a free world we have the choice to live and work wherever WE choose. We also have the right to start our own company if we choose to do so.

The definition of work is to be doing one thing when you'd rather be doing something else.
It has been said if you find something you LOVE to do then you will never work another day in your life.
I suppose the real key is to find what that is for each of us.
"You are responsible for your own happiness".
"When we change, our circumstances change."

You think we are being abused because we have to work a 5 day work week?  You do not have to work that much--you have the choice to live with less, or nothing at all. That is freedom.

Being a productive member of society means we have to work to support our lives--unless you can find someone who will support you...like living at home with parents like a lot of people so.

If that's all you want to work, then by all means, only work that much.
