Is America's form of government a democracy or plutocracy?
One claims all citizen have a part in the government, the other is operated by the wealthy.
Absolutely a plutocracy. I am not sure it has ever been a democracy. It was closer to a capitalist republic than anything else before, but now it is definitely a plutocracy.
Believe it or not, we live in a democracy and the people are still ultimately in control. But the leaders have figured out ways to make the public too ignorant, too divided, and too complaisant to ever effectively change the system. This process has been slowly evolving for about 90 years now. In Europe, where the average citizens have less power, it is not necessary to control the minds of the public. So the people over there are allowed by their leaders to be intelligent and free-thinking.
