What would have happened if Ronald Reagan had remained a Liberal Democrat ?
Ronald Regan began his political career as a Liberal Democrat, but switched to the Republican Party in 1962. Would he have been elected if he hadn't switched parties?
Yeah, I think Reagan was an all around man. He would have stirred emotions, but he would still have strong followers and supporters..
I'm not so sure. The country was trying to escape the awful Carter period and another Democrat probably wouldn't have been elected no matter who he was. Reagan's conservative values are what made him so great and they changed the whole direction on America, which is what people wanted at that time.
The democratic party would have been a different place today. Reagan left the democratic party because he saw the communists and socialist who he had gotten to know quite well in the arena of Hollywood taking over the party and driving the philosphy to the far left. Reagan didn't change...the party did. WB

Had a debate with a friend today- he seemed to think the current GOP climate has moved to the right of Reagan. Your thoughts?

Many say Ronald Regan, former US President in the 1980s, knew how to look into the camera and please everyone. Do you agree.
