Should American tax payers be paying to support other countries?

Currently, we spend trillions of dollars supporting the Isreal government, Iraqi government, British government, African government and MANY others. Is this right? Should we allow our government to continue to give our money to other countries?

No, they should support themselves. They and their government are more in need of money than anyone esle. They are the one who created the mess. So let the american clean their own mess rather than cleaning any one elses mess.

When we can, we should help others, but if we drive ourselves bankrupt doing so, we'll not be able to help anybody.

Yes. We are not an isolated island. The world, all nations and all people are interconnected. As the worlds most advanced and prosperous nation, it is our duty to provide assistance to our less fortunate neighbors.

A better question for me is what KIND of assistance. I personally am tired of providing guns (or money to buy guns) to nations so they can kill people.
