Absolutely! I don't really care how flawed our system is, the US is the best nation in the world, at least in terms of our principles. I am a 'left-winged' American, but find our attempts at freedom and liberty the most progressive of all.
I am quite proud to be an American on this 4th of July. The rights we have under the Constitution is only one reason to be proud. Another is the sacrifices our military has made throughout history to preserve the freedoms we have. The reason we are able to celebrate the 4th of July is due to their sacrifices and commitment to defend and protect the freedoms we have against those who would do us harm.
As a veteran and a patriot, I love what this day stands for. But, I cannot help but notice how far we have deviated from our path. We are the wayward children of our Founding Fathers. I am also reminded by every bottle rocket that men and women today wear the uniform that I adorned for 4 of the younger years of my life. Many of them are not home today and may never be again. I will not partake in any fireworks demonstrations today. I will celebrate with gusto the first July 4th when no American is deployed outside the borders of his homeland.
Definitely ! I am intensely and immensely proud to be an America every day. America is a great country and everyone living here should appreciate it.
I am 100% proud to be an American. Our country is not perfect, but then what is? Despite differences, sometimes profound differences (Civil War, Viet Nam protests) the USA continues to be a destination for immigrants. This country was born out of turbulence. Our current political unrest is not unlike other periods in our history. We will go on and grow stronger.
Exceptionally proud!! As a man said a long time ago, "My country, right or wrong,"
I'm proud to be an American every day! I've been all over and there's no place in the world I'd rather live.
Yep, I am proud to be an American the greatest nation all over the world, the land of immigrants and opportunity. We salute the white, red and blue all the time. Happy 4th of July my fellow Americans.
You should all be proud to be American every day... not just on the 4th July.
I love being an American and being free, but I'm hardly proud of our nation as a whole.
It saddens me that we continue to utilize the war machine to stimulate our economy. It saddens me that our public education system is a joke and we continue to fail our youth. It saddens me that greed is allowed to run rampant and threaten hard working people every day. It saddens me that TMZ, reality shows and the Kardashians are important to millions of Americans. It saddens me that people are so blinded by religion and their own beliefs that they will totally overlook common sense.
So no tears when China wins.
