Would commentating for the Presidential debate be the way to get into the race for next time?
Is that what Donald Trump is doing?
Well, they say that no publicity is bad publicity, and you would like to be associated with the area in which your ambitions lie. But that said, I think that it's not the best route--although media are slightly more trusted than politicians in general, I think that they are seen as the 'chattering classes' and outside the ranks of 'movers and shakers.' (Of course, sometimes 'outside' is good.)
As to The Donald, who knows what he thinks he's doing? And who cares? One who has been a laughingstock to so many will find it hard to be considered Presidential material.
