There is not one issue that I can be concerned about, there are numerous. To start with the guys who get elected are mostly misfits. We do not get to vote by a fair voting system in most parts of the world. The guy in the office gets voted just because there was no better choice. We cannot call the present way of election system in various countries as fair, because the one who has majority gets the office but a large percentage of citizens did not vote for him/her which means a certain percentage of people rejected him/her. There should be a rule that unless 80% people turn up for voting the election cannot be considered and re-election should happen.
Leaving elections aside, there is a lot of lobbying done by internal or external interests, which are forced onto the citizens no matter they like it are not.
The people in power serve a few rich businesses ignoring what the real needs are for their citizens.
Too much of bribe and corruption exists in many countries which brings down the development of the country and make rich a few.
