Why did Robert Downey Jr. Say, "If you've spent time in prison you can't come out being a liberal?"
Why would prison change a person's political beliefs from Liberal to Conservative?
I don't know if he said he'd become a conservative. But as for not coming out a liberal he probably means in the sense of having "compassion" of any sort for the prison population. Like prisoner rights, death penalty, and any idea of rehabilitation over simple incarceration...
Then again, shameful to say because he is such a talented actor, Robert Downey is been the beneficiary of compassion considering his repeat offenses that wound him up in jail several times.
Just my two cents.
