How many people think that giving business's tax cuts will improve the job market?
I have become extremely concerned lately with how people vote. That not with standing, I would like to know what it is that makes people think it is ok for people like Mitt Romney to make $21 million a year and pay less in taxes than what the workers who he employees makes? What makes it ok to give more tax cuts to businesses, when the owners are paying less in taxes than their employees? Why should businesses be ENCOURAGED to cut employees below 500 for a 20% tax break? How are these things suppose to improve the economy when they get a tax break for having more employees already?
Avarice. Unfortunately, it all comes down to avarice. Those who have the most always want more. It's not ok. It's never been ok. But those with all the money have all the power. Those of us who are not wealthy know that money doesn't make you happy.
I don't believe we live in a society that understands what really matters and makes it a priority. The priority is making as much money as possible, and it doesn't matter how you make the money, just that you do. How we got this way, I can only guess, but it needs to change. It's not fair, and I bet if the tables were turned, they'd want us to pay our fair share.
If the rich are given even more tax breaks, all that means is that more money will go into their pockets as profit. Thay are not going to use it to make more jobs or pay more to their employees. And I agree withe what Dr Bill said, and I have been saying for a long time, a "flat tax", with NO deductions, NO loopholes and NO back room deals, for everybody. You pay a flat percentage of what you make. My opinion, Greg
It is a valid concern. I seem to recall the justification for previous tax breaks was because businesses are the job creators. How did those work out?
The flaw with some of the reasoning for a flat tax, like the one Cain proposed, is it wouldn't cover state ones in the formula. Here in California I would get hit with the federal 9% and the 8.25% for my local stuff...ouch.
