Why are we becoming more and more obsessed with fairer color of skin
that more and more corporates are exploiting it for garnering their business?
I think it is because there are forces within the media that believe that white and fairer complexions are "better" than darker ones. It is the same old racism and prejudices that have been around for many years, packaged in wrapping more acceptable to society.
Dexters agree that it is the prejudices of media through which they have been trying to change the opinions of masses. What actually matters is the inner beauty as said by lone77star.Outer beauty will change but inner beauty will never change.
Corporate Party media kool-aid.
But that only works for some. My wife is a nice dark brown -- a permanent "tan." It's what's on the inside that counts. Outside, she's gorgeous. But on the inside, she's an angel.
That is bias. Usually, the dissemination of photos and movies of models who have fair skin has an impact on the viewers and audiences. More people choose to think that a dark skin will be unsightly and lackluster. This is all because of advertising.
