Should NATO get involved in the Syrian Civil War?

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization currently has two ongoing operations:  providing security and fighting terror in Afghanistan, and protecting ships from pirates in the Gulf of Aden.  The last major operation, aiding rebels in Libya, drained military resources of several NATO members.  Are you pro-NATO intervention in Syria or not?  Please explain your reasons, whether you agree or not. Libya showed that NATO is a timid husk of its formerly muscular self. The war that was to last days dragged on for months, and it caused more innocent death and destruction than probably would have occurred had it not happened at all. It was to have been easy pickings, and it turned into a lengthy bloodbath. Syria would probably be more difficult, while intervention there would almost surely bring confrontation with Iran and risk it with Russia. NATO no longer has the punch to do it even were it a war of necessity, something it is not, and after Libya it likely has no stomach for it.

The only reason the US and her European auxiliaries (NATO) would go into Syria would be so that they could have a hand in propping up the next pro-US dictator.
