As I am listening to the Republican Convention, I am hearing again the notion that Mr. Romney can
lead the United States government as President because he knows how to run a business. Why would anyone want to run a government as a business? I understand that the purpose for a business is to make profit but since when is the purpose of a government also to make profit?
You are absolutly right. The first thing he will do is layoff employees and cut services. We will save on gas because there will be no one to fix the pot holes so you will have to drive slow. Then he will suck any money he can out of any retirement plan such as Social Security and give it to the wealthy so they can creat jobs in China. Medicare vouchers won't pay all the cost of medical insurance so many people will do without because they can't afford the difference, the vouchers will be worthless to them and will save the government money because they are never used. To Romney the middle class is just a source of profit for himself and his friends.
A central purpose of an American government is to protect the lives, the liberty, and the property of its citizens, as well as their equality in their own pursuit of happiness. It is not to drive them deeper into debt, largely ignore their pleas for jobs, to show favoritism, and to dictate policies for the whole country which should be left to the individual states and localities. It is not the function of government to say one thing and then do another.
It is the function of leadership to lead according to the law, and to inspire greatness, display love and compassion, and to accomplish unity of purpose toward worthwhile goals. Successful businesses have good leadership and those same goals.
Good businesses return benefits to their workers, their customers, and their owners. Poorly led businesses fail, or find a new leader.

Paul Ryan stated that Trump's accusation of his Judge's bias due to his Mexican heritage was the very definition of racism, but he still supports the Republican nominee. Why can't he just call Trump a racist? And admit that racism is rampant in the Republican party.

Was the republican convention a wasted opportunity to gain on the president?I think except for Ann Romney's participation there was very little accomplished by this convention, the Rasmussen latest poll gives it a 5 point bounce , I suspect the real bounce is about three points once the other polls...
