   If you are voting for Obama in November = can you give specifics about why?
   
   Most of Obama's promises have not come to fruition, our economy sucks, American pride is almost gone. WHY would anyone seriously want to re elect this man? I am serious - I need to know.

   Simply, after hearing the woe is me Romney speech, I have no choice but to vote for President Obama. Reading between the lines of Romneys speech, the little guy is going to hurt a whole lot worse. The economy suck and American pride is down because of the previous administration. It took 30 years to screw up this economy. And he scares me with his comments towards Russia. Romneys insane! God help us all if he's elected!

      What's between the lines,  that says that Romney is going to hurt the middle-lower class? The comments re: Russia were in reference to the comments Obama made about how much more flexible he could be with Russia. Now that's scary, if you ask me.

   #1 Economy has improved in all areas GDP is up, consumer confidence is up, unemployment and real unemployment are down, Stock Market is way up, profits are way up. 
   #2 Healthcare act will help the 45 000 people yearly who die in America because they do not have insurance (according to Harvard study) which makes it possibly the most important bill in decades.

   if you subtract inflation Obama has dropped spending about 2.6% despite being left a crisis.
   #4 Our last conservative president destroyed a healthy economy we left him.
   #5 I really don't like Romney at all, the guy stinks of privilege and was raised wealthy how could he possibly understand or relate the lives of most Americans?  Obama isn't much better but lesser of two evils and all that.
   #6 Got rid of that horribly outdated don't ask don't tell policy which now allows all our best to serve this country without having to be ashamed.
   #7 Has an anti terrorist policy that actually kills terrorists without getting American soldiers killed.
   
   In summary everything is getting better albeit slower than I might like, where our last conservative president made everything worse.

   As much as I resent the social-philosophical background of Obama, which lies in the 1950s and 60s Marxist thinkers such as Herbert Marcuse, and passed down by people like Derrick Bell to Mr. Obama, I do not think that Obama is responsible for our economic situation.
   
   Rather it is exactly people like Mitt Romney who are responsible for our economic situation.
   
   Finance capital has been running this economy. And it has no patriotism, no accountability, and no vision. It has obliterated our manufacturing base by trading with Communist China, which manipulates its currency, while keeping America's tariff at about 1.3%, the lowest it has EVER been.
   
   They are only interested in the short term profits of themselves, and their playing field is on an international level, where the interests of America matter very little.
   
   Romney does not look like he's going to do anything about it. Probably the only thing he'll do for us is take us to war.
   
   At least Obama will keep us out of war, and concentrate his attention here at home.

   Wow. Well Conservative Lady, you have your answer. The lies, smear campaign and fear mongering of the left have hit their mark with those too lazy to actually research anything. Case in point:
   
   It was actually the Democratic Congress in the last two years of Bush Jr.s Presidency who created, passed and enacted all those great policies that "brought about our great economic downfall" and created the expanding debt. In fact, if you look at the breakdown of spending by President and Party make-up of Congress, the Democrats far outspend the GOP going as far back as Reagan. Remember, the Congress enacts laws. And the Democrats controlled Congress from 2006-2010. Say hello to reality.
   President Obama has not cut spending. He has been curtailed by the GOP in Congress AND more sensible Democrats. His budget proposal calls for massive spending which is why it was rejected by Congress. If you compare his first two years with a Democratic Congress, spending was up 28% to 30%. Once the GOP gained the House, it dropped to 14%.
   The Healthcare Law is not going to insure 45 million people. It's too extensive but feel free to actually read the document and then remember that a lot of the states are now opting out of Medicaid expansion.
   I do so love that when President Bush went into Iraq to overthrow Hussein, it was likened to murder but President Obama can use controlled drones to target anyone he pleases without any Congressional approval and it's A-Okay. smh
   I might remind you as well, that Reagan created that healthy economy from the mess Carter and the Democrats left behind. Yes, the deficit ballooned but that was because Reagan set about future spending cuts rather than cutting spending during his term. It was these spending cuts that were enacted under Clinton. Clinton, however, contributed to the bubble that burst under Bush as well. This is easily fact-checked by searching an actual economic website and study in Google.
   I apologize Conservative Lady for hijacking your question. I have grown tired of the lies and letting them stand.

   I was going to answer this question earnestly, but your preface makes it clear that nothing I could possibly say would change your mind.  So I'll mostly direct my answer at the people you're trying to influence with your disingenuous preface. 
   
   You act as though everything was peachy keen on January 20, 2009, and Obama ruined everything.  If you'll recall, we had two wars (one absolutely unnecessary that put us roughly $2.5 trillion in debt), we were losing 750,000 jobs a month, and the stock market had just lost 60% of its value in the preceeding five months.  It was all the culmination of years of Republican experimentation with total deregulation of the economy on a scale that can only be compared to prior to the Great Depression, and the results were absolutely predictable.
   
   Since Obama has come into office, the stock market has regained its value, bin Laden is dead, the war in Iraq is over, we've gained 4 million jobs over the past three years (all in the private sector, because government has actually SHRUNK in employment during that time), and we've begun to repair some of the damage that Bush and Dick Cheney did over 8 years.  We've got a moderate universal health care law that's a step in the right direction, and much more would have been accomplished had it not been for total, iron-clad Republican obstructionism since day one of the Obama administration.
   
   And here's something else:  If Obama is NOT re-elected, the movement toward extreme right wing policies that Bush practiced will return with more force than ever.  Read the GOP platform they just adopted in Tampa.  The Republicans have PROMISED a ban on abortion with no exceptions, more Supreme Court justices like the ones that allowed unlimited secret money in our elections, efforts to make it more difficult for people to vote, saber rattling (if not war) with Iran, military intervention in Syria, an extension of the war in Afganistan, and removing all the positive aspects of the health care law.  Medicare will become a voucher system, and Social Security would be jeopardized (the unsuccessful effort to privatize Social Security during the Bush administration was Paul Ryan's fantasitic idea).
   
   So there you go.  That's why I'm voting for Obama.  And I think I'm more "serious" than you are.
