If you are voting for Obama in November = can you give specifics about why?
Most of Obama's promises have not come to fruition, our economy sucks, American pride is almost gone. WHY would anyone seriously want to re elect this man? I am serious - I need to know.
I'll abstain from what you know to be my response Conservative Lady
Simply, after hearing the woe is me Romney speech, I have no choice but to vote for President Obama. Reading between the lines of Romneys speech, the little guy is going to hurt a whole lot worse. The economy suck and American pride is down because of the previous administration. It took 30 years to screw up this economy. And he scares me with his comments towards Russia. Romneys insane! God help us all if he's elected!
#1 Economy has improved in all areas GDP is up, consumer confidence is up, unemployment and real unemployment are down, Stock Market is way up, profits are way up.
#2 Healthcare act will help the 45 000 people yearly who die in America because they do not have insurance (according to Harvard study) which makes it possibly the most important bill in decades.
#3 Obama has reduced spending (oh yes he has) http://articles.marketwatch.com/2012-05 … ken-sailor
if you subtract inflation Obama has dropped spending about 2.6% despite being left a crisis.
#4 Our last conservative president destroyed a healthy economy we left him.
#5 I really don't like Romney at all, the guy stinks of privilege and was raised wealthy how could he possibly understand or relate the lives of most Americans? Obama isn't much better but lesser of two evils and all that.
#6 Got rid of that horribly outdated don't ask don't tell policy which now allows all our best to serve this country without having to be ashamed.
#7 Has an anti terrorist policy that actually kills terrorists without getting American soldiers killed.
In summary everything is getting better albeit slower than I might like, where our last conservative president made everything worse.
You took he words right out of my mouth. But I'll go a step further. The policies of the other major party for the past 30 years have brought us to where we are. I'd like to give the other party/philosophy more than four years to try another tack
Only room to answer one, Josak: "if you subtract inflation Obama has dropped spending about 2.6% despite being left a crisis." WHAT'S THIS CRISIS CRAP? 'Put on your big girl panties and deal with it.' It was a bad thing, but he's not making it better
All I can say is WOW. You really believe all that? My wife is Canadian, we have experience with socialized medicine, you are in for a surprise. Canadians that can afford to see a specialist in the States, do. Rather than wait the 3 months on the list
Josak, what is wrong with being privileged. Don't you think Obama kids are? How is priviledge STINKY? What makes privilege unable to lead?
As much as I resent the social-philosophical background of Obama, which lies in the 1950s and 60s Marxist thinkers such as Herbert Marcuse, and passed down by people like Derrick Bell to Mr. Obama, I do not think that Obama is responsible for our economic situation.
Rather it is exactly people like Mitt Romney who are responsible for our economic situation.
Finance capital has been running this economy. And it has no patriotism, no accountability, and no vision. It has obliterated our manufacturing base by trading with Communist China, which manipulates its currency, while keeping America's tariff at about 1.3%, the lowest it has EVER been.
They are only interested in the short term profits of themselves, and their playing field is on an international level, where the interests of America matter very little.
Romney does not look like he's going to do anything about it. Probably the only thing he'll do for us is take us to war.
At least Obama will keep us out of war, and concentrate his attention here at home.
Wow. Well Conservative Lady, you have your answer. The lies, smear campaign and fear mongering of the left have hit their mark with those too lazy to actually research anything. Case in point:
It was actually the Democratic Congress in the last two years of Bush Jr.s Presidency who created, passed and enacted all those great policies that "brought about our great economic downfall" and created the expanding debt. In fact, if you look at the breakdown of spending by President and Party make-up of Congress, the Democrats far outspend the GOP going as far back as Reagan. Remember, the Congress enacts laws. And the Democrats controlled Congress from 2006-2010. Say hello to reality.
President Obama has not cut spending. He has been curtailed by the GOP in Congress AND more sensible Democrats. His budget proposal calls for massive spending which is why it was rejected by Congress. If you compare his first two years with a Democratic Congress, spending was up 28% to 30%. Once the GOP gained the House, it dropped to 14%.
The Healthcare Law is not going to insure 45 million people. It's too extensive but feel free to actually read the document and then remember that a lot of the states are now opting out of Medicaid expansion.
I do so love that when President Bush went into Iraq to overthrow Hussein, it was likened to murder but President Obama can use controlled drones to target anyone he pleases without any Congressional approval and it's A-Okay. smh
I might remind you as well, that Reagan created that healthy economy from the mess Carter and the Democrats left behind. Yes, the deficit ballooned but that was because Reagan set about future spending cuts rather than cutting spending during his term. It was these spending cuts that were enacted under Clinton. Clinton, however, contributed to the bubble that burst under Bush as well. This is easily fact-checked by searching an actual economic website and study in Google.
I apologize Conservative Lady for hijacking your question. I have grown tired of the lies and letting them stand.
No problem at all SassySue - you saved me a whole lot of typing. I am still amazed that Obama has any likely voters out there.....
Conservative, some have had so much kool-aid or had their minds sun-dried in the tea that this mortal walks not on water, but on thin air.
All I will say is "Amen Sister" to SassySue!!!
Eli, "Rather it is exactly people like Mitt Romney who are responsible for our economic situation." No, lack of regulation so Bernie MaDdof and Ken Lay could exist CAUSED this economic situatIon. Mitt R. helped those who COULD succeed, SUCCEED.
I was going to answer this question earnestly, but your preface makes it clear that nothing I could possibly say would change your mind. So I'll mostly direct my answer at the people you're trying to influence with your disingenuous preface.
You act as though everything was peachy keen on January 20, 2009, and Obama ruined everything. If you'll recall, we had two wars (one absolutely unnecessary that put us roughly $2.5 trillion in debt), we were losing 750,000 jobs a month, and the stock market had just lost 60% of its value in the preceeding five months. It was all the culmination of years of Republican experimentation with total deregulation of the economy on a scale that can only be compared to prior to the Great Depression, and the results were absolutely predictable.
Since Obama has come into office, the stock market has regained its value, bin Laden is dead, the war in Iraq is over, we've gained 4 million jobs over the past three years (all in the private sector, because government has actually SHRUNK in employment during that time), and we've begun to repair some of the damage that Bush and Dick Cheney did over 8 years. We've got a moderate universal health care law that's a step in the right direction, and much more would have been accomplished had it not been for total, iron-clad Republican obstructionism since day one of the Obama administration.
And here's something else: If Obama is NOT re-elected, the movement toward extreme right wing policies that Bush practiced will return with more force than ever. Read the GOP platform they just adopted in Tampa. The Republicans have PROMISED a ban on abortion with no exceptions, more Supreme Court justices like the ones that allowed unlimited secret money in our elections, efforts to make it more difficult for people to vote, saber rattling (if not war) with Iran, military intervention in Syria, an extension of the war in Afganistan, and removing all the positive aspects of the health care law. Medicare will become a voucher system, and Social Security would be jeopardized (the unsuccessful effort to privatize Social Security during the Bush administration was Paul Ryan's fantasitic idea).
So there you go. That's why I'm voting for Obama. And I think I'm more "serious" than you are.
Day one? There is the ultimate outright LIE once again. Apparently most of the left was off the planet for the last four years. The Dems held control of both Houses from 2006 - 2010. What obstructionist Congress did he deal with?
In which case is Obama only responsible for his first two years in office? Dems had control for less than two years before total collapse, and the groundwork of unmonitored lending had been there for several years previous.
What did he accomplish when he had carte blanche? Nothing. He chose to focus on his "legacy" instead of what we needed. Sorry both Clinton & Reagan accomplished more with actual oppositional Congresses.
I would love to hear your rationalization for Solyndra, Chevy Volt. Tell me what I am missing please. I need your wisdom.
"stock market has regained its value," My portfolio says differently. "The Republicans have PROMISED a ban on abortion " The POTUS can't BAN abortion. Roe is LAW of land. Only SCOTUS can. It's more likely with liberal justices legislating from bench.
And the left says we are talking heads. They are very good at repeating the liberal message, in spite of the truth. We shall prevail.
Most of the comments from Obama supporters are repeating the lies coming from the Liberal Media and almost verbatim. I honestly wish they would research the FACTS and not count on the Obama loving reports coming out from NBC, CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, etc
Isn't that a fact. No facts necessary, just tell us what to say. So sad. Remember when people used to research things and come to their own conclusions? That seems to be a lost art. I guess people are just too busy now.
This is precisely why you guys are going to lose this election too, you aren't arguing the facts you are just complimenting each other on the basis being sure you are right and everyone else is ignorant regardless of their knowledge or research.
@Josak I presented the actual facts in response to your claims. I notice you had nothing to say about that did you? Liberal hubbers delete comments with facts. They are patting themselves on the back with rhetoric & propaganda all over this site.
@ josak. Independent here. I would be more than happy to debat FACTS with you anytime.
Lady, most of what Obama supporters use as "evidence' are talking points they've heard from liberal media. They should examine HIS record and what THEY want for THEIR country. Really EXAMINE.
It's funny - the libbies won't accept any facts from conservative platforms EVEN if proven true but they want us to swallow hook, line and sinker lies from liberal owned sites such as FactCheck or snopes. Many lefties do not do their own research.
@cassie That's because they consider FactCheck and Plitico objective sites. Which is amusing in a sad way.
Josak, I commented, like Sassy, on 2 of your posts-WITH FACTS and was not countered or challenged. I'm not inviting a debate, butI I can only draw one conclusion; the liberal mind doesn't know it's 'fact from a hole in the ground.' Doesn't know fact?
I am so excited about the Debates - even though the Moderators are all Liberal I still believe Romney and Ryan will show Obama and Biden what it is really all about. Like the big gunfight at the not so "OK" corral lol.
About the debates and excitement. WHAT does Candy Crowly know about being impartial? About interviewing. I could put it all in a thimble and have lots of room left for cream.

If we have a new administration in November, will it really make a difference?Every four years, we look for new changes, a new breath of fresh air, and new hope. Do you think that it will happen if we have a new administration?
