Who is, or was your favorite U.S. President to learn about?

My favorite to learn about was Andrew Jackson... that being said that man is crazy, and I disagree with most of the decisions he made, but nevertheless he had a fascinating life that intrigued me to learn more about him.  Who were your favorite U.S. Presidents to learn about?

Abraham Lincolin. I've always been interested in him. He studied hard, had severe depression, lost both of his sons, and believed he did nothing to help the war. My second favorite was Franklin D. Roosevelt.

I liked FDR until I learned he was a racist and refused to shake Jesse Owens hand. Elanor was the better heart in that household and she shook his hand instead.

I'm not surprised. That was extremely common at that point. It's true that Eleanor was the better leader who could make anyone comfortable. FDR got bored at dinners and told guests "I killed my mother yesterday" to see who paid attention.

I was impressed with John Quincy Adams, the man Jackson beat. After losing the White House he went back to Congress and fought against slavery. He continued his fight despite failing health. In fact, he died in the Capital while speaking out for abolition. About 2-3 paces from where Adams fell dead a young congressman witnessed his end. Mr. Lincoln would one day give America what the dead warrior of freedom fought for.

Abraham Lincoln. There is so much information out there about him. So many books, so many different points of view, so many different interpretations.

Abe Lincoln. I just think from his humble beginnings to the struggles he faced in office and in his life, his sense of humor and understanding of human nature, he was one of the most intriguing of any president to this day.
