    If you knew who was running for president in 2016, would it effect how you vote in 2012?

    Would you try to predict how the 2016 candidate would fit into a long term plan like a major league baseball team does with their minor league system? If you trust your candidate now, shouldn't you be concerned with who he hands us off to in 4 years or 8 years. That's not all that long that we can say that "I'll worry about that then."

    Yes 2016 candidate can fit in 2012. Minors can become Majors.In the same way if somebody wants to try their luck we must give chance to the new comers,may be like this we can change the whole scenario .

    I am voting based on what I know for certain today. I know that Obama is in over his head and we need a change if we want to save this great country of ours.

      And Gary Johnson, 2-term governor of New Mexico, never raised taxes, cut spending, cut government, allowed business to create jobs and left office with a billion dollar surplus.

      I'd like to see that in a president, Gary Johnson.

    I rarely openly discuss politics, but I feel that PRESIDENT Obama (It is very disrespectful not to add the title PRESIDENT to Barack Obama's name. Surprisingly, I don't recall anyone addressing Bush "simply" as such. Oh wait a minute, that's a whole nother discussion for a whole nother day) has been given a bad rap. When the previous administration crapped  on America for 8 years everyone seemed to forget about that. In my opinion, I am willing to give PRESIDENT Obama more time to fix the sh*t pile that the previous Commander in Chief layed down before him.

    So, back to answering the question, If I knew the running candidates for president in 2016 it wouldn't matter as to how I will vote in this upcoming election.

      But Barry Soetoro Obama has betrayed his Oath of Office numerous times -- trashing the Constitution, and sweet-talking his way past it.

      * Kill list w/ Americans on it
      * Gitmo - "forever" sentence even if acquitted
      * NDAA indefinite detention
      * More!

    Are you implying that Bill Clinton would like President Obama to lose?  The theory would be that if Obama wins and things don't improve or get worse, it will be almost impossible for a Democrat (such as his wife) to get elected in 2016.  If Romney wins and things don't improve or get worse, Hillary would have a great shot at getting elected in 2016.  A husband and wife both having been elected president would be quite a legacy.

      But if Obama does well and things get better, does that mean Democrats have a leg up on the next election? Let's ask Al Gore. And I don't want to hear about cheating in Florida. Legacy? Bush and Bush. Not so sure. Maybe curse.

      I agree.  I think it is very difficult for the same party to hold the White House 3 terms in a row.  Obama winning and things improving may make it even harder for Clinton (or any Dem) in 2016.  People get antsy and just want change.
