If you could choose one way to make a difference in someone else's life, what would it be?
Without the use of money, how do you think that we can make someone else's walk on this planet a little easier, a little better?
Provide them with shelter, food to eat, caring people, and a warm place to sleep.
I think doing volunteer work is a good way to make a difference in other peoples lives. For example, I sing and play the guitar at one nursing home and one assisted living facility every month. I also volunteer at a therapeutic riding center every week during the spring, summer, and fall where we teach children with disabilities how to ride horseback.
To me, the greatest gift you can give to another human being is to enable them to see themselves as they truly are: not egos but divine sparks of God. Such is the mission of all the great teachers no matter what their religion (or the religion founded after them)
Of course, it isn't a wise move to try to force people into a belief. Enough of this happens through the ignorance of we adults with our own children. But then again, we ourselves are only 'victims of victims,' as the saying goes.
However, as another saying goes, 'when the student is ready the master will appear.' So those who evolve to the stage where they really are searching for answers to what their life is about, there are always those who are a little bit ahead of us 'on the path.'
Yes, I would choose being able to introduce a person to their 'Real Self.'
If one have a mind to help others, there are many ways to help. I used to help the 'child line', one of the Social service forum who helps children. This forum pick up children from foot path and other areas. Most of such children are used by gang for begging on street, near Temples, Church, Railway station. Some children are forced to work in some home, hotels etc. There they are misused sexually.
If I find such children,or any child in suspected way, I used to inform the 'child line' people. Soon they will come and save such children.
Most of such children are, stolen by beggar gang and utilize for begging. Some children left their home due to various reason and reached in the hands of such gangs. Both male and female children, even the very young one, are sexually raped many times.
The forum, gives food and shelter to them. And with the help of Police and other social service people, the child line workers will try to find out the parents of such children. There are many cases they traced parents and let the children go with them.
If no one to claim them, such children are send to Child Home etc where they got education etc. Many children, who are brought in such 'Homes' are now leading comfortable life and in good jobs.
To save a child from the street! I think it is a kind work one do without any money or not even it take much time. Only think, look around you while you travel. Inform the Police or Social group. That's all.
If you care little, you can save woman, elderly persons also in this way.
GIVE A HAND TO THE HELPLESS, LIKE OUR PARENTS GIVEN CARE TO US!
I believe simply providing some form of tangible "hope" is the optimum way to make one's walk on this palnet a little easier or better.
