    Are our thoughts controlled?

Have we been trained or manipulated to think the way we do as a whole, even on individual level also.

Some folks are subject to manipulation by media, advertising, etc probably because it is easier to believe what one is told rather than research or think things through for one's self. But to generalize that to an entire population, such as "our thoughts", no. A good many of us still insist on critical thinking, refusing to be lured by the likes of FOX News.

I agree. Even tho at times it can be hard finding more independent people who rather lead them self thru this life experience than really believing others who only gain from there belief. People will be who they want & this is what makes what we see continue spinning.

I agree with Jim, the media/news/others can control our thoughts but only if we let them. We have to remember that this world has been manipulated for a very long time.

The young girls are manipulated to think that thin and not eating is sexy, and this is put out there by the magazines when they should be teaching children the positive thinking of using our abilities and confidence to strive for a better out look on life.

So when a company like dove comes along and cares about young girls and their program focuses on how to feel sexy and confident by being yourself, that is the power behind our thoughts or the way it should be. Its sad we live in a world that has he right to try to manipulate ones thoughts to begin with.

Peer pressure, bullying our all a conspiracy to control ones mind/thoughts. However if you keep on the right track and stay confident within yourself, and strive to be exactly who you want to be then your thoughts become impossible to change. You become empowered. NO one can touch you.

The bible says. if you have faith you can move mountains.

So with that said, this identity chip that is about to surface aka "mark of the beast" will be a good example of controlling not only our thoughts but our life as well.

So with this question asked, it inspires us to know what is controlling our thoughts and what isnt. Do not be taken in by false wonders/signs and miracles with anything.

This chip will only destroy us to no end. It will not be a good thing and it will used to take away the very thing this question ponders about........our thoughts.

Individuals are often greatly influenced by external factors.  Just think about how many people listen to Hollywood celebrities and their opinions on political, economic, social, cultural and fashion issues. It doesn't seem to matter that many of them are drug addicts & alcoholics that are incapable of staying married to the same person for more than 18 months.  Somehow they exercise great influence over the population.  Especially the youth.

But to say your thoughts are controlled...That is a stretch.  Controlled would imply involuntary.  People that place great significance in the words and idea's of people like Tom Cruise are voluntarily choosing to be sheep.  They're not controlled.  I guess it would be safe to assume that if your thoughts were controlled, then you wouldn't have the mental capacity to ask that question.
