Do Liberals Love Misery?
No matter that people in conservative states live much better lives, better finance, better tax rates, better schools etc...........the left desperately tries to make us believe the failings of extreme left states like Co, Ca, and NY are how we should all live? They call us dumb when were not the ones with 15% unemployement and cities going bankrupt while hundreds of thousands are spending their entitlement money in Vegas (report from State of California) I think they are miserable and want us to mire in their disease!
A first year college student taking his or her first accounting class could find fault with the way California handles money. To my knowledge, so far the only state that has entire cities declaring bankruptcy is California.
States like this have a high young people population whom are accustomed to instant gratification, spend it now, worry about it later.
I believe they honestly think what they are doing is right, and won't know the difference until the money bucket goes completely dry.
AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!
Are you actually serious do you actually think that Red states are wealthier and more prosperous? Do you actually think red schools are better despite the lower graduation rate?
States with highest poverty rates:
Kentucky, Tennessee, South Carolina, Arizona, West Virginia, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, Alabama, New Mexico, Louisiana, District of Columbia and Mississippi.
A list utterly dominated by Red states.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U. … verty_rate
Highest income states:
Maryland, New Jersey, Vermont, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Virginia, Hawaii, Delaware and California.
A list dominated by blue states.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U. … _by_income
etc etc.
Sorry but Red states are only better in your imagination.
I guess red counties would be better examples than just red states. Orange County, CA a red county is quite wealthy despite filing for bankruptcy about a decade or two ago. There are many liberals here as well but they are more tolerant and understanding. I have seen some unity here and there aren't any exaggerated "class warfare."
I consider myself as a libertarian and lean towards republican ideals when it comes to the economy, jobs, and community. The people here are very accepting. Yes, I guess we're wealthier here. San Diego county also has many wealthy areas. Los Angeles however, that's a different story.
California high income earners are usually in red counties such as OC itself. Many are business owners, professionals, or celebrities in Hollywood. I don't know if they're liberal or not but if I was to assume, most of them are probably conservative, libertarian "pro business" leaning. (not Hollywood)
However, it seems like (i'm not judging) that there are more less than wealthy and impoverished liberals and democrats. There are many circumstances that prevent them from moving up but I wouldn't blame it all on the opposing party. It's on the individual themselves. My parents grew up poor but managed to work hard and make a good living. We never got any support from the government and during hard times, we chose not to as we can still manage to cut back on things we don't need or think of a little business to make money from (garage sale, cleaning houses, tutoring, etc.)
Many liberals however, make me feel guilty sometimes. I feel bad that they're in the situation they're in but I can't change my ideals that hard work pays off, be good to others, don't feel that I'm entitled to everything, and help the ones that need help but just don't take most of the people's incomes (taxes and all) just to spread it around. I have poor family members and those of us who are making a better living help them, "hook" them up with jobs, polish their resumes, give them some tuition money so that they can learn to fish and have a better future.
If I have one problem with left leaning folks is that the "entitlement" programs have become a norm to them. I hope I'm wrong. This comment is from real life experiences. Not wikipedia, not Fox, MSNBC, or anything. Just what I hear from real folks around me.
I don't mean to be so political or argumentative.
Liberals (as in people who define themselves as liberal when asked) are 7% wealthier than self defined conservatives.
Josak, just stick with that story if it makes you feel better.
Josak is WRONG! There are many more business owners that vote conservative than left leaning wackos. Over in some Asian countries people live to be a hundred daily, why? because they WORK, Hard work over taking from others is the answer, .........
Josak,
you make this tired old argument daily, I finaly took the time to research your claims, Your numbers are misrepresented. California has 38 millioin people, Oklahoma has 3.8 million, The population numbers alone disrupt your analogy and anyone that wants to construe them. New Mexico has a handful of people compared to any state. Most of NM is barren wasteland. It is populated in the North and South with little in the middle. They recieve billions in federal money due to defense. libs love to use this "federal dollar" thing to prove a point. Who pays all the bills in NM? The Southern region with OIL!!! The Northern region is made up of artsy fartsy extreme liberals who live off the hard working conservatives............just like in most states down South.
All the of the numbers I gave are per capita so the population is totally irrelevant and I said nothing about federal money. I listed income and poverty per capita. Liberals make 7% more so they pay the bills because they pay the taxes. Try again.
Josak, there is a catch to your madness, Maybe its because so many government employees are liberal, I just heard they spent $3500 a night on motels for conventions etc. and that the IRS gave away millions in bonuses last year.
And the IRS squandering money surprises you? They were trained by the government where waste is their business. After all, it is not their money they are pouring down the rat holes.
Nope polls of government workers show that political spread is pretty even. The reason is liberals are much more likely to be college educated and thus be professionals and professionals make more money and they pay the bills.
PQ - Be aware, you will never win a debate with Josak so why waste your time. Josak sees the world entirely opposite most of us, and firmly believes in what he says. Nothing will ever change his mind on most anything. That doesn't make him bad.
while your college proffesionals seem to make more money they owe thousands in school loans, folks in the oil field make six figures without a high school education, But that is bullshit about more libs being educated and you know it.
Nope loans and mortgages are included in this analysis of wealth, they are 7% wealthier and make 8% more yearly. 49% of Liberals are college grads 41% make more than $75 000 yearly.

Liberals claim to be ideologically against social injustices, intolerance, and tyrannical government, but they exhibit all of those same symptoms themselves. When they are hated upon, they hate hate just as vehemently. They conform more than anybody else to fit into party lines and promote their circular arguments. They want the system to work because they like their privileges and are all about rules, regulations, and political correctness and yet they try to undermine the constitution every chance they get by attacking the second amendment and curbing free speech when it's convenient for them to do so but then insisting on it for themselves.
On the other hand the Republican philosophy is a good one, but modern conservatism is a fanatical, oligarchical, hate-fueled war machine, making non-stop exceptions and concessions for the wealthy and their constituents. Everybody should stop polarizing every menial aspect of their lives and the whole "them vs. us thing," stop passing the buck, and start cleaning some things up.
Well, Colorado is not a "liberal" state. I would call it more of a hybrid state. You have both extremes in the state. Just because they pass some liberal legislation doesn't mean it's a liberal state.
This question is deliberately judgmental of people and their political beliefs. On the flip side, liberals think that conservatives are Bible thumping, ignorant and gun-toting. So what goes around, comes around. There is nothing wrong with other people's beliefs when it comes to politics otherwise we'd all be alike.
And there is tons of poverty in the south where conservatives overwhelmingly have control. And there are more people on welfare in the south than other parts of the country when the economy is better. California is the 10th largest economy in the world. Every state has it's problems.

What makes you a Conservative or a Liberal?Did you make a choice based on your personal world views and ideals or did you follow the opinions of others based on race, culture, family or friends?

Do you believe that America was much better when the Conservatives ran it or with the Liberalscurrently running it? Why? Why not?

I read an interesting article this morning. It is from Scientific American. It boils down to one 'belief' separating Conservatives from Liberals. It is as quoted; "We find instead that the main difference between the left and right is the belief that the world is inherently hierarchical....

What's so terrible about being a Liberal? Why do many people, even Democrats, seem ashamed of the term "liberal," especially if it is applied to them? Are there any people out there who are liberals, and are proud to admit it? And do conservatives sometimes demonize liberals?
