   Nope, I sure didn't. Just to be fair though, it wouldn't matter If voted at all, becuase we are just pawns in a game lead by the wealthiest people in the world. So good luck voting there buddy.

      Indeed. But people get up in arms over far less pressing things than this. What if some sociologist decided to conduct an experiment by handing out your personal information and whereabouts to a population of inmates? Kind of similar.

   To be honest, I didn't know that the subject was up to a vote.  I would; however, be in favor of an attempt.  I feel that ultimately humanity needs to get out there and explore.  We should be attempting to make contact, whether it be for the better or worse no matter whether it is now or a thousand years from now we will never know if a species is going to be more advanced and try to "wipe us out".  The only thing we can do is try, and see... I believe that any advanced civilization would in essence be more or less similar in nature to ourselves, and if anything have out grown the need for carnage.

      "I didn't know that the subject was up to a vote."---but you see my point. Ten Mexicans crossing the border illegally and working off the books at somebody's house would create a huge uproar in the neighborhood, but not this.

   I did not vote to contact Aliens but Human consciousness is not a collective. No single individual ever acts on behalf of the race/species. Those who choose to try to contact Aliens do so because they think that it would be a wise thing to do. However, if Aliens did exist the wisdom learned by the history of Humanity would suggest that it would not be a wise decision to try to contact them unless they were less technologically advanced than us. We can only hope that they are more morally advanced or that they find us insignificant like Ants and leave us to our own demise. Worse case, they colonized and assimilate us like slaves.

      I agree that we should look for parallels in the species history so far. Just crossing oceans or even train tracks produces monumental clashes. In the meantime, there's the issues of ethics with respect to technology, and whether liberties were taken
