   I'll be brave and go first.  I AM FOR the death penalty for rapists that murder their victims.  i am FOR the death penalty for heinous  murderers who not only confess, but where there is a DNA or video evidence. 
   
   First let me just answer, yes there are wrongful convictions, especially before DNA.  But still, we have to take responsibility for our choices and our actions and it is time we declared war on heinous crimes in this country.
   
   You may feel I am not a person of compassion or mercy.  That is not true. It's just that my compassion lies with the victim.

      I definitely know about wrongful conviction. Leonard Peltier is a good example.  I also know that DNA has improved rightful convictions. When a 40 year old man rapes a 4 year old girl & then murders her,  tosses her body like trash, that's barbar

      Yours is a good answer. But I think you've failed to consider a crucial question, namely whether the elimination of criminals is likely to eliminate crime, haven't you?

   If the evidence is cut and dry, I am for the death penalty of any heinous crime. Saying that, the evidence must be 100 % accurate. Too many innocent people have been murdered in this country because of the death penalty.

      You're silent on a very important point, i.e. the execution of wrongdoers is unlikely to rid society of wrongdoing. Do you really believe that capital punishment to rapist-murderers would make this world free of rape?

      It won't prevent the crime but it will prevent a repeat from that criminal, most sexual predators are repeat offenders.
      Its not about correction its about punishment, nothing has cut crime as much as 3 strikes, this is the next step.

   I am completely against capital punishment. It's barbaric.
   Rapists that murder their victims need to be in prison.
   
   Also, in the case where an innocent man is put to death, do you just say, "Oops?"
   
   The death penalty turns doctors into hypocrites because they are involved and they swear an oath to uphold life, hardly possible when someone is dying via lethal injection or using their stethoscope to confirm someone in an electric chair is indeed, dead.
   
   The death penalty also costs tax payers more than keeping the same prisoner for life.

   when there is solid evidence and the case with all evidence, including that disallowed under the rules of evidence, I am in favor of the death penalty for
   1st degree murder
   attempted 1st degree murder where the perp made no action to save the victims life.
   Violent rape (where great bodily harm s done)
   White collar fraud IE Bernie Madoff
   Execution should come 365 days after sentencing. There should be 1 appeal wherein any evidence found post trial or excluded under rules of evidence that shows innocence. + 1 review of all evidence by a completely independent panel.
   
   I oppose all parole and time reduction for violent criminals
   I'm in favor of 3 strikes providing that 2 are felonies. or if any are violent crimes.
   
   I'm in favor of pardoning everyone who is in prison for simple drug use or prostitution.

      The number of prisoners sentenced to life who committed additional violent crimes; certainly thousands though I don't have a solid number.
      The number of executed prisoners who have committed additional crimes; 0.
