Do you believe that those who fake being rape victims would be classified as "rape enablers"?
I have written a hub on this, which you can see on my page, but I want to know what other people think.
If you fake being raped for whatever reason, would you classified as a rape enabler?
Its odd because I was having a discussion with my girlfriend the other day about how the rape culture in the United States is awful. Most police cases of rape goes unsolved because the kits are left untested. I think there are a number of young women that say they are raped just to get attention and that ruins it for the women who really need the help. I think its common that when a women says she was raped men doubt it if she isn't beaten up.
Rape should be taken seriously and its starting to become a bigger issue especially around campuses. I would call the women who fake rape, "rape enablers" because while they are not actually enabling a rapist they are enabling the culture and that is what's dangerous. The more we as a society but even more importantly the more men take rape seriously the better we will progress on this issue.
