How has your life changed for the better since Obama took to office?

Has your life in ANY way improved in this 8 years? If so, how?

Several extended family members now have health insurance coverage now for the first time which translates to stress relief and gratitude all around.  I have worried less that we have "thinking" president who uses diplomacy instead of blood spilled on battlefields to maintain peace....and with that, the Iran nuclear deal was huge to my way of thinking.  In terms of my retiree-financial and physical security, my future is more predictable than not.

My 401Ks tottaly tanked after the Bush bailouts. I lost half my savings. Now, the money is almost back to where it was. I even bought an AMERICAN luxury car for the first time because the gas prices are affordable now. I'm still losing 4,000 a year due to the Bush enactment of the doughnut hole for my meds, but that is going away soon, I think. All in all health care is much better now.
I also love that so many military lives have been saved because Obama advocates diplomacy over all out war with people who are not even in our hemisphere. It is not the job of the USA to be the world police. And overthrowing the dictator of another country by Bush turned out to be very very bad for our country and its citizens.

I agree, Bush made a huge mess. It's good that Barack cleaned up most of the mess; he had gas prices lowered, and Americans can now afford healthcare.

Gas prices are lower due to fracking despite the Obama administration interfering with drilling permits, not because of Obama.

Well that's one point of view. What's  your source for that information, Tamara?

It changed for the better because I've learned not to expect a black president to assist black people during a crisis. There are many crisis black people have been a part of, which is exposed in media. And a change for the better could have been some good advice from the President. If he gave good advice maybe it landed on deaf ears.

That is kind of like thinking that all of the white presidents made white lives better. Some did, some didn't.  I think both Barak And Michelle have tried to raise black issues, but look what they are working with. He managed to accomplish a bit.

He's probably the most divisive president ever.  Played a big part in pitting blacks against whites.

Why, exactly do you think that? And what, exactly did he do to "pit blacks against whites"? I know you won't answer, mostly because there is no answer to your weird imaginings.

Blacks shouldn't be against whites or vice versa, because it's spiritual warfare, good against evil. Color shouldn't be the issue. . . .

And what Bill did Obama sign that pitted blacks against whites? There isn't one. That's just a false accusation and an attempt to convince you of a lie about our President.

Lolita Monroe. You have said this in other threads but never explain why you feel that way. Care to elaborate?

I have never seen Lolita elaborate on anything specific. She seems to be lost in a fantasy world.

I am glad to hear that someone's life changed for the better. You always hear the negative and never the positive. My family was insured the moment healthcare.gov opened its website. My husband and I both have jobs that were easy to come by. And all of the savings that we had to use up during the recession, we now almost have all of it again. My parents were in danger of losing their home and they were able to use the 'Making Home Affordable' plan to refinance. If you have heard about the Wentzville plan, that was brought back after so many in our community lost jobs. Now everyone is back and making a decent living. My sister was able to get a tax credit on her business. And so on!
