How many Americans will truly leave the US if Trump is elected president?

  2. Shyron E Shenko profile image80

None, any American who would allow half of our country (believing you to be an American also) is not an American.  Most people know that the power the President has depends a great deal on the House and Senate, I don't think even Trump knows that.

Shyron, you could not have said it better, I am not american, but some of my family members are. So many people are against trump going into office, making idle threats of fleeing when chances are they will stay an do nothing to change their concerns

Most likely none, and if any do leave because of Trump then the number will be small. Most people who leave or give up citizenship do so because of some major legal advantage.  I believe one of the original investor/founders of Facebook took citizenship in another country to avoid paying the capital gains tax on the sale of stock if he remained an American citizen.

I am not sure how small will the number be? if the immigrants don't feel safe there anymore...

I hope all of them will leave as they don't help the country.

Just what do you think this country is? I'm 3rd generation only. Should I leave so the Mayflower crew can roost? Oh, but then they'd have to go as well. After all, they were immigrants, too.

I think that this is no place for them. Your comment doesn't make any sense.

No place for immigrants in a country of immigrants.....and i make no sense? Check your mirror.

I may have misinterpreted the question. I was referring to those people that said they would leave the country if Trump was president. They were mostly celebrities. The ? didn't give any context about immigrants.

Oh cool!  Then there is no place for Rush Limbaugh, and I'm with you on that. Problem is, he never left. But he does hate America, right?

Yes, but taze me bro said anyone who wants to leave because of a president hates America. That means Rush hates America, and the whole Republican party must as well, since they fawn at his  big mouth er/ah feet. Finally, the truth! Yayyy!!!

I'll help you. Liberals who want to leave because of Trump are America haters. Conservatives who spoke of leaving because of Obama are smart patriots. Republican standards. Always at least double *wink*

I would think a lot of muslim and mexican Americans might. I'm quite positive Trump would look the other way if they started being treated badly on a mass scale. And given the stupid mentality of the Trump supporters, I would not doubt either. Don't forget, they use violence as a means to an end, and shoot people and claim self defense. Once a mob mentality takes hold with El Duce Trump directing the hate, Muslim and Mexican Americans will be treated like Jews under Hitler. You can already see it coming.

You can actually see it coming, which is sad, because you have to wonder is America worth staying in, if they would be risking their lives.....sigh

You not only called him names but also Trump supporters. Your orig comment didn't make any sense.Trump is going to mass murder Muslims and Mexican Illegals. You care more about illegals, and foreigners than you do Americans.
      Sad

Do you read comments here about Hillary and the people who support her? Do Trumpsters deserve more respect than them? I don't think so. Dish it, take it. And Dumpy is singling Mexicans and Muslims out as the problem. He's stupid. It's right wing nuts

Lots of liberal celebrities threatened to do this when Bush won, but aside from Tina Turner, I can't think of any who actually did.
Same will be true if Trump wins.

Anyone who says they'd leave the country simply because we change presidents (the country has survived worse than Trump eg Obama) has actually already left the country and doesn't deserve to be called an American. These people hate America.

I  don't know Tamara, Trump and Bush might be in the same pot, but they are vastly different ingredients!

Tina didn't "relinquish" her citizenship because of Bush. She was a longtime resident (20 years) of Switz as a resident, which requires 12 year min to become a citizen. She had to learn fluent German to pass the citizenship test, that takes time

Leslie,Rush never threatened to move to Costa Rica. You really need to stop believing the liberal hack media. He said If he had to get thrown into this massive government health care he'd go to Costa Rica for treatment, not move there.

Yup Rush said he would go to Costa Rica for treatment if the US universal health care was passed. What was funny is Costa Rica has Universal Healthcare which is much stronger in law than the U.S.

If I had the means to do so, I would consider it. Not because Trump is President, but because I am surrounded by so many people who support him. Being around a group of people who take so much pride in ignorance and ignobility is unbearable.
